Wattle Hill Kindergarten boasts a beautiful garden setting where children can play and explore in a natural environment around our seasons. Wattle Park is our backdrop. Our teacher, Sofi Galanis, and our assistant, Connie Mills, are a fabulous team. Their dedication inspires a wonderful sense of community. Sofi came to Wattle Hill as Director in 2002 with over ten years experience in early childhood education. Her passion and experience was recognised in 2008 when she was awarded an Inspirational Teacher Award from the National Excellence in Teaching Awards (NETA). Sofi was one of only 10 teachers from Victoria and one of only two early childhood educators to be recognised. The kindergarten provides a quality, flexible Reggio Emilia style teaching program based around the needs of the children. At Wattle Hill we listen and value what the children say and do - Sofi inspires the children to believe anything is possible. There are lots of different and popular experiences for the children, such as: painting, drawing, music and movement, telling stories and writing them down, a home corner, play to stimulate the senses, puzzles and games. We aim to provide a balance of active and quiet activities both indoors and outdoors in our magic garden. Parents and carers have lots of opportunities to play, explore, learn and grow at Wattle Hill too. Sofi gently teaches us not to underestimate what our children are capable of. Together we can achieve great things. 2012 Timetable
